    TV TROUBLE

Has anyone installed a T.V. in their 03? I'm having a bit of trouble with road noise, not loud but very annoying. I think that a connection from the DVD player is touching metal somewhere but I'm not sure. Any suggestions?

What kind of road noise? Do you mean when you step on the gas it makes a whine noise through the speakers? I have installed a TV and PS2 in my Rolla and don't have any kind of problem. If it is a whine noise when you step on the gas it is most likely caused by a loose ground or your RCA's running too close to power wires.

It's the whine that I'm hearing. I'll try a different ground, hopefully that will cure it! Did you have to use a power converter to hook up the PS2 or do they make a special box like they do with the PS1? Thanks for the help!!!

I installed the PS2 with a power inverter. I contacted Sony and they said that the PS2 takes too much current to make an adapter like they did the PS1 that just plugs into the cig lighter. I picked mine up at Schucks auto store. And I saw that they have the exact one I bought on sale through this weekend for $29.99. I went overkill and got the 400 watt inverter. 200 watt would be plenty but the 400 was only $5 more. It has built in fan and protection circuit. The only thing that I would say is make sure you hardwire the inverter cause then you can play it with the car off if you are just out hanging with friends or at a car show.

just out of curiousity, where do you put your PS2. i have a decent Tv in my car, and i'll likely put in my PS1 i just don't know where. plus i have to find the AV adapter, AND something to power it (luckily 2 cig lighters in the rolla) sucks though, i have an older PS, the big one.

as for the prob, my TV breaks up a lil, but mostly it's fine. it runs through the stereo wireless-style.

There are two places to put the PS. Either you can make a box for it and mout it on top of the inside of your trunk, or for easier access you can put it under the passenger side dash, you will have to make a box for it there to, but it is mch easier. Just make a box with a top, two sides and a bottom, no back, then screw it, or whatever to the bottom of the dash, run the wires behind it. The best thing to do is cover it in vinyl, it looks like it could actually be a piece of the dash.

i know he has ps1. thats why if you read the post more than once i said, that he will have to do some modafication to the glove box inorder for it to fit. its not hard. i have messured and have done a templet for mine. it CAN fit if you open it when you use it. you can extend it almost like a tray to when you have done it right. so i know it will fit. PS2 will also fit, but its really bulky in the back and you need to almost cut the entire back out of theglove box so it can breath. then you need to use like velcro or...make some type of a stopper so when you close it, it would fall or move out of place. i was thinking of a strap over the top and sides, i know that will hold it.

Mold it into the glove box. You have to cut out part of the back in the glove box to have the wires run directly out. I bought an extra set of cables and left them in the car that way I can take my PS2 in the house if I want or leave it in the car without taking the cables back and forth. The PS1 is easy to put in the car. You don't need a power inverter for it. They make a cig lighter adapter that just plugs in. You can get them even at Target or any game store. PS2 draws too much current for a adapter, have to get the inverter.
