Engine turbo S or XRS?

turbo S or XRS?

Ok so if you guys had some extra cash which of these would you do? i think turbo on the S is the way to go but that XRS looks tempting.

Have you been away from this forum for like 3 months??:roll: There are like 10 threads about this topic... The overall consensus is that the S/C'ed S will kill the XRS... so that being said, a turbo would be even quicker than that.

im not asking which would kill which.... just wondering which way everyone would go if they had the cash... no were in the question did it say which would be faster. or did you not even read the question?

Depeneds... in my view, I would upgrade. Mainly because I don't have power windows right now, and some small other features that I really wish I would have went for. If I didn't have to upgrade, I would choose whatever would be cheapest in the long run.

That's just me though...

You will get more repect for having a rolla that you turbocharged than an overated version of the same car.

Ask yourself this. Who would you give more repect to, some rich little bitch who bought Evo or a guy who has a Lancer with the same amount of power because of the work he put into it.

yea thats what i was thinking to.... i mean after all the money that ive put into my car upgrading the suspension and the n.a. engine it woulda been cheaper to buy the XRS... but it wasnt out at the time so oh well... but i definately would go for a turbo 1zz now since i have so much invested in my car already.

but the thing is this. Evo comes out CARB and SMOG legal with the intercooled turbo it has. If you put an aftermarket turbo kit on a Corolla, it is not legal. That's one of the reasons people buy the Evo's or STi's because they are street legal from factory and boost a lot of power. Sure, you can get a Corolla close to their level, but it will NOT pass SMOG.

Unless someone can come out with a perfectly CARB approved turbo package, I would much rather get an Evo and feel relaxed knowing my car will pass all emission standards and kick ass at the same time. THose who live in non emissioned states, damn you guys are lucky.

I would get the Tc over the Xrs corolla personally but if you look at home much the xrs would cost you after the trade in of your car you could have every engine modification I do and would forget you dont have a few of those extra options. Man it is so fun to drive.

but how do you guys get your tags when it comes time to SMOG it? Unless you pay off somebody or you put your stock stuff back on.

nah we only have to get it checked every few years here and i just had it in march so im good for a while.

A turbo S would donkey stomp and XRS hands down in every aspect.

I dont even think my county has e-check, at all. So it wouldnt matter what I did to my car.

I guess I am lucky I dont have to deal with that shit.

damn, I'm moving down to Florida in the future. What other states don't have SMOG besides Arizona and Florida?
