    Turbo Kit questions....

ok so after reading all the info. about turbo vs. supercharger ive decided that a turbo kit would work best for me. however i dont want to get in over my head with no point of return. i was wondering if anyone knows if there is anying speacial tunning i will need after i put the kit on if it comes with a piggyback ecu, or is the piggyback programmed to specs already? and also will the forced induction work with the stock converters or should i just replace them with some high performance ones?.... my car doesnt have to pass a visual emissions test just a sniffer but i dont want to have to take stuff off when i do have to get it tested. also i am looking for the best turbo kit available for it and was wondering if anyone would recommend a certain one.

haah my turbo setup wouldnt pass emissions...but i dont have cats either. The stock cats are pretty high flow. I'm running the car without any tuning, and its doing ok at 6.5 psi with a large intercooler...i wouldnt do more than that though without some fuel system upgrades though. I have an auto tranny and its holding up just fine...about 7K miles so far no prolbems. If you have specific questions, just ask, i'll respond :)

get a Greddy E-manage...its really the only tuning option. The computer will be fine with GT-S injectors @ 7.5 psi but i wouldnt go much higher than that. With the e-manage, you can do whatever youd like. They make 440cc/min injectors...but they're hard to get, so either do what TRD does and plumb a secondary or get 500cc/min injectors, the e-manage, and run like 12-15psi :) (with a manual and forged pistons and rods)

yea i wasnt looking to run any more than 6.5 lbs of boost with the stock engine... i just dont want to spend all the money on a turbo and have problems down the road and keep putting more money into it. i wanna get everything i will need at once so that im all set.
