    Turbo Corolla Discussion

yeah I have vvti but that wont make a huge difference F/I it may even hurt it.... who knows....

but yeah with your system I would assume close numbers since it is very similar and you have a great setup as well!

while your car was in the shop I was learning to weld my IC piping.. I think yours actually was on the road running a month before me... I had started before you but didnt have the funds... or actually couldnt find the right shop to help me... had 2 of them sorta screw me and get me nowhere so I decided to do it myself... then once you finished yours the shop I think closed.. I was like dang...

but yeah i have like 30K turboed miles or so on my car... no real problems yet... unless you count someone rear ending my car...

I'll do a review on the GT25R Turbo once I finish testing it out.

Cause I want it to spool up mad crazy fast :)

Besides the GT25R already makes more boost then I'll ever use on my 1ZZ so I didn't see the need.

well its not so much a matter of how many PSI you crank out but what the flow volume is. for instance... 6psi on a 25 series puts out less HP than 6psi on a 28 series. However, I'm not sure what exactly how much of a difference there is there.

Wow this is all so confusing, my spyder sense tells me that if the pipe is charged to 6psi then that airflow going into the intake should be the same no matter how the 6psi was generated? Hmmm. I'm gonna have to hit up the old' HowStuffWorks.com :)

Vortex is right and to make it seem clearer imagine a T25 or even smaller turbo from like a neon they are tiny... no imagine a dump truck turbo as big as your head and then some... your telling me they flow the same at 6 psi??

Basically you spool faster but loose some power because the larger the turbo the more airflow.. however then you have to look at efficiency etc etc as well

a gt25 will work fine if you never want to go to high hp wise and is more then needed.... hell id definately go regular t3 if i was just going to do 7 - 10 psi and thats the end....

LOSX, I remember you from a while ago when I still had corolla... :)
coz I also have the EVO front on my 98..hehe

I am just wondering how you can put down extra 100+WHP
with just 7psi on the 1zzfe engine...thats some amazing # you got there
if i knew my 98 can put down this kinda number i might not
wanna upgrade to a WRX

but honestly after driving the WRX for a few months
i realized its not just about having a car with alot of HP
handling, stopping power, comfort in the driver seat,
    realiablity,etc are very important...

i still cant believe my 98 rolla died on me :(
