TSB for 03 Corolla (Link inside)

    http://edmunds.nytimes.com/maintena...ner=nytimes&tid=nytimes...mnt.step2.9.Toyota*

try going to the link above it is the TSB(TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS) for the 2003 corolla. It also states something about the code p0420 that some of us are getting with our CAI after driving for a while the CEL comes on.

But what I also do not understand for us with the CEL issue is that I have a AEM CAI and on the AEM website below it states that putting on a AEM CAI will NOT void our warranty. I am confused. I thought it would.

And then on the AEM website it states that there is an ACT against car companies trying to void your warranty for whatever reason.

Just some info, I think I will be disconnecting the AEM intake and putting stock back. I am financing my car and for whatever reason the CAI is causing my CEL to turn on. I am not sure if my CAI is the reason for the P0420 code but it hasnt came back on yet and I just rather have my car work properly than worry about f'ing up something in the engine and not being covered. If some one here is a mechanic and knows what is causing the CEL to turn on the p0420 code about the catalytic converter then pls inform. thx ant

after reading those bulletins i realized that i experienced the air conditioning not being cold one.... i was driving from ohio to florida and the air condition was working really well but the longer i drove the less i felt it and it was almost like the a/c wasnt even working.... we hit some stoped traffic and as i sat the a/c started to get really cold again... i never really thought about it again till i read that.. it hasnt happened since but i havent really used the a/c either cause i drove back to ohio in the winter so i didnt need it... is there something i should do or is it no big deal?

i am not sure about the warranty issue, i have an aem cai and i am getting the p0420 error code...so i am in the process of disconnecting the aem cai but forgot where to hook up the ecu mechanism part and where the little screw that was really hard to take off went...if anyone has any ideas or can post some pics of the original stock intake and close pics would be helpful. my a/c did the same thing too. i have 32000 miles so i am trying to get this fixed asap. thx anthony

Those check engine lights can be a pain. I've been thinking on getting my supercharger taken off and get my refund back if I can. Toyota and TRD are stumped as to what they can do, but revert back to the original stock configuration. I'm still debating because it's still under warranty for now. I'll keep pushing to have it fixed, but if no luck by the time warranty runs out, than forget it and invest in an Evo.
