my personal favorite is sliding vane... mid range power. centrifugals are more efficient when it comes to compressing. the roots just look mean as hell and give you supercharger whine. roots will save a helluvalotta space tho...

what kind of supercharger? screw type, sliding vane, centrifugal? the former 2 are difficult to custom, the latter is pretty easy.

I don't know the actual different types but roots is good because ur always boosting at a certain psi. Centrifugal takes time to spool up (like a turbocharger).

Roots and screw are both positive displacement blowers, and screw type compressors are more thermally efficient.

centrifugal does not take time to spool up... it's still belt driven just like the roots... just like any supercharger for that fact.

it's extremely difficult to get a CUSTOM roots style sc. maybe a blitz compressor would be good for that... but it still won't be roots. true roots superchargers are made by weiand and the blower shop for v8s. many roots superchargers for 4cyl are made by jackson racing.
