    trouble with oil change

i made the mistake of draining the oil while the car was on the car ramps and then forgetting to add engine oil before turning on the engine and putting the car in reverse to take the car off the ramps. how much damage did i do to the engine. it was turned on for about 10 seconds. after i realized it, i immediately turned it off and added oil and it seemed to work fine. thanks for any input.

I am speaking from experience - you will be fine.

I did the exact same thing with a friend's 1998 Corolla (same engine). Ran the car for about 5 seconds and the oil light wouldn't go off. I revved the engine slightly, turned it off, scratched my head. Started it back up and ran it for another few seconds - realized what I had done and immediatly shut it off. Refilled with oil and started the engine - all was well. No damage done.
