    trd thermostat?

anybody know anything about this mod? does it help our cars in anyway?

i believe our stock thermo opens up at 180?

this one is at around 160.

what benefits are there for this mod?

    thanks!

your right about our cars oem thermostat being 180degree - and ive "heard" that 160 degree thermos help give you a little more power...BUT, ive also heard that it can possibly make you run more rich, therefore wasting precious gas... im not sure though..

Thermostats do nothing of the sort... All a Thermostat does is stops the coolant flowing through the block until it is at a specified temprature, then allows it in to cool it. All a 160degree thermostat does is open earlier to allow the block to start cooling sooner... In all honesty you dont even need a thermostat. My friends Cortina has ran no problems without one for years.. the only issue is it takes ages to warm up.

Well we both ordered one. We'll see if it solves Sean's knocking problem.. My friend got a smaller pulley for his 2004 supercharged Impala.. part of the upgrade package was a colder thermostat because there was knocking if you left the stock one in...

we only have thermostats for car just have the car warm up to a optimum heat range so we can have a good mpg. screw the thermostat and guzzle gass all day!
