yeah CR is right... abou the only way of getting it cheaper is by not getting the new CPU and getting like a unichip or something... that takes off about 2 grand.

or find something used which is next to impossible and well it won't even be worth if you find one cause you will never know the kind of use the last owner gave to it so u might end up loosing money on it down the road...... I dk man such parts never really get discounts and stuff unless u work for Toyota directly or something of that sort

1800 is the going rate for them. not a deal. for a short time a dealership in cali was selling them for 1600, but that's long since over.

umm, it is 1800 with the TRD ECU.. if they're charging more than that, shoot them.
and yes, it was 1600 for both for a short time.

if you looked at the dyno sheets a few posts down, you'll see like a 70% gain. 220 @ 7psi was it? :)

thats also from a turbo 1zz non VVT-i, if you had read... superchargers take power to make power...and he was just makeing a rough guess... both CR98 and I re at an altatude of roughly one mile a turbo is not going to get us as much of a gain as it would for people at lower altitudes... that and up here our cars are only running roughly 110 stock if even that... I don't want to start a fight or anything, just pointing out a fact..

you know less about the TRD supercharger than anyone i've ever met... not trying to sound like an ass but you are giving horrible information.

The blower will run about $2400 (WITH THE ECU), but can be found for as little as about $1700 (WITH THE ECU) like said earlier. You will have to search, but it can be found.

As for the gains (trd.com says 170hp I think)... it's like a turbo, a stock non-intercooled setup at 6ish psi will net you around the same as the supercharger. Its the mods that you make WITH the s/c that shows real numbers. Im pushing about 230ish crank horsepower with the TRD supercharger at 9psi (no pulley upgrade)

and for those that throw around "it takes power to make power", have never driven a supercharged car. The low end torque is incredible.

everytime someone posts a thread about a s/c someone always has to bring up the turbo end. look put it this way if i was going to turbo my car... why would i buy a bolt on kit that only runs 8-10 psi? thats stupid because if you build the engine first you could run so much more boost with a turbo and get very nice gains. if you wanna buy a bolt on kit witout internal engine mods the s/c is the way to go. it doesnt void the warranty, its a direct bolt on kit, it only costs about 2 grand, and it can be installed easily by one person in less than 4 hours (trust me i did it).

Yes, get a custom hood and an ECU (like unichip) and you are good to go.

what if i were to cut a hole to clear the S/C and just mold and paint a hoodscoop?

wouldnt the s/c Ecu for the 03 work?

the hood mod will work... I think the clearance issue is something like 2-3 inches. Also, the fuel map will be different witht eh TRD ECU. It's even different between 03's and 04's

    Polo,
did you buy new internals and whatnot when you went with the intercooler setup? I wouldn't mind milkin some more hp out of my corolla with a supercharger kit.
Oh yeah, not to sound dumb, but what does a supercharger sound like? Is it loud? I know a turbo has a slight, breezy whistly type of sound.
Tell me more about your low end torque, if you don't mind. :)
