    TRD S/C Warranty Registration Card

Earlier this week I got my S/C installed by a Toyota Dealer. I asked them if they filled the warranty card and they told me since I didn't buy the S/C from them; I'll need to fill it out myself. Did anyone have this problem? Where is the S/C serial number located? How can I measure belt tension? Also a tech signature was required but I'm not sure if I should sign it or I should bring it back to the dealer? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks JT

Hmm, that's strange. I got my signed and filled out by the tech that installed mine. The only thing I had to do was to fill in my personal information and mail it myself. I made a copy of the card and the Belt Tension part wasn't filled out. I guess that wasn't important. The tech did write down the serial number of the supercharger, dealer code, repair order #, and address of dealer. He signed it too and dated it along with the VIN number of the Corolla. That's about it.

I went to the dealer to have them fill it out. They also left the belt tension blank. He told be that it was dynamic. Whatever that is. I'm not sure, but I think the S/C is warrantied for a year. Not too sure though. I'll make a copy of the card before I sending it to TRD Corp. Thanks for your help guys. :D

It is a warranty card so I would think it is important if you want to maintain your warranty properly, just like with any other products such as computer hardware you buy (scanner, printer, etc.). With the supercharger, I feel it is especially important because you'll never know what can happen in the future. It is nice to have that support from Toyota, especially on a high performance part that performs so well.

As far as my check engine light goes, they are still working on it. They've replaced the O2 sensor like 3 times, tightened the adapter, and now they are going to rewire the wire loom and electrical harness for the supercharger and install a new TRD ECU. It is currently on order and the best part of all, I don't have to pay for it due to the warranty. The tech said that if that doesn't solve the problem, he is going to have to call in TRD guys directly to reassemble the supercharger piece by piece and test everything for resistance and continuity making sure that it is installed properly.

Despite the problems, it drives great though. I have fun peeling out laying down long ass tread marks all over the road. I got to get a TRD strut bar to stable the car on the turns though. I can feel the car twist under me when I floored it while turning the intersection. TOo much good power........

If you install the S/C yourself is your engine still under warranty since its a toyota product? I know the S/C is only warrantied for 12 months, but will my car keep its full warranty?

According to the Toyota dealer, the warranty should be still be valid if its install by a Toyota Dealer. 5 yrs on powertrain and 3yrs or 36mo bumper to bumper.
