i thought it was just a short THROW, not necessarily a shortened shifter...?

the trd quickshiffter isnt a short throw. it uses extra torque to make it easier to shift. i have a twm short shifter which is real short. i love it

Hm. how is it on your arm and posture? I have a stock shifter with a tall knob and it seems like a bit of a stretch from a rested seating position.

it doesnt bother me any,its shorter but the throw is alot shorter so you wouldnt have to reach so far.... sometimes you have to use a little muscle to get into reverse but thats all. i like it alot,it makes the car feel alot more sporty i think.

it doesn't change your gear ratios, just the pivot point in your shifter, so you can shift quicker, hence quickshifter

if your console looks like the one in this picture, then yo ucan get the TTE quick shift kit for the e12 corolla. if you want, also look at www.twmperformance.com and look at the corolla and celica shifters. a lot of different toyotas use the same shifter with varying heights.

Actually... never mind. I have asked TTE with mail, I have asked local dealer, I have asked on 3 other forums, phoned local TRD importer... nobody seems to know this anyways. If you have not done this your self i doubt you know answer to this. Thanks anyways.

The TWM shifter will work with all 5-speed 93-02 Corollas. I'm 100% sure of that, as many people with both 93-97's and 98-02's have the TWM shifter.

By the way, for the most part, the word "short" in the name of a shifter means the throws are shortened, or made "quicker". I believe it's just the TRD shifter that lowers the height of the shifter without making the throws quicker/shorter.

Is the TWM unit a lever and the balljoint or a entire floor shifter unit like the TRD?

Yes, in USA. Here in EU 90-99 rolla's use 4A-FE (7A-FE USA) and in -00 on 3ZZ-FE (1ZZ-FE USA). Not same engines. Nobody has been able to confirm compatibility with USA and EU (or Japan) models so far, can you?

is there any possibility you can take a picture of your shifter assembly?

sorry about my other post, i forgot to include a link.

if your shifter, then all the US shifters for corollas and celicas. I haven't seen your car yet, but I assume that it is similar and corolla/celica shifters will fit your e11.

    here is the site: http://www.tte.de/tuning/website/Ce...corolla-e12.pdf

oh, and i have definitely installed one, here is a picture of it on my car:

this is what you can expect with the TWM shifter

ok the twm short shifter is actually shorter. tahts waht i have .[IMG]
the trd quick shifter is ,i beleive, longer than the stock shifter. this gives it more leverage

personally i like the shortshifter alot. it makes the throw alot shorter.

Believe me, i have zoomed those same pictures uncounted times... Here is just TTE German reply for my mail: "Unfortunately we did not test if the E12 Quick Shift kit fits also into E11 Facelift model."

I understand that they have not tested it, but my main point is that many many many toyota shifters are interchangeable. if you perhaps can open up your center console and take a picture, we can verify (quite easily by visual inspection) that the "standard toyota shifter" will fit in your car.

    Sure?
Body code is same, i have just sedan (ZZE112). ZZE110 is 1,8L?
That TWM is nice too, but i would like that E12 TTE unit more if it fits...
TRD unit is very expensive, thought some nice leather knob would be nice... ;)
TTE is around 170e here, not that bad price. And it is easy to get from local dealer.
I will be visiting local dealer next monday.

Anyways many thanks for all, so far i must say here seems to be best "know how" guys when it comes to corolla! :D :D :D

ariman, your e11 looks exactly like my zze110. i understand why.

any corolla or celica shifter will fit in your car, i would recommend the corolla (1998-2002) short shifter from TWM performance. it will cost probably around 180 USD shipped to europe. again, the website is www.twmperformance.com . this shifter will definitely work on your car.

    ah i see..

i'm pretty sure the TTE for the E12 will fit if your console looks like that!

good luck, and let us know how you like it.

I have the REVO quickshifter, much nicer than stock, very smooth, no problem finding gears. Its the way to go, makes staying in the powerband much easier.

This TTE is not for E11, there is one locking ring on E11 that will go broke and no replace unit for it. Noticed there is no grease either. Hope i can get raplacement ring from dealer soon, i need this car next week!

Dont start this project if u need car next day...

Also, ball at the end is bigger than in my stock, side ball is close, but thinner than stock.
This is definitely not right for E11. Have to see if it can be modified...

Got lock ring from local partshop (!), modified stick, now it works. Spend one eve and one afternoon with it, about 7 hours. And yes, i like it :)
