as stewardcboy said in topic 4392 It is just a piece of tubing. From my understanding granted I dont really know alot about all this. The filter is what makes the biggest differnce not the tubing. Correct me if I am wrong.

    Got my AEM CAI installed

Got this badboy installed with the valve for only $30. I noticed the pickup and even a quieter ride at 70mph. I think with all this fast paced driving I've been eating more gas than usual. By the way, when you guys stand outside ur car with the engine on, is the air sucking sound normal???? It goes away when I hit the gas. My friend has a short arm and I don't hear anything.

if you really want to know which one is better

from import tuner magazine: they did a testing on all the CAI and short ram intake. base on the dyno. injen have the most hp gain. AEM have the most troque gain. aem with k&N filter is most effient. injen with K&N came in sec in most effient. so use you own personal preference.

let me know if you want to know more.

i had the AEM first and it was a good intake i would have kept it if it had worked with the s/c but it would not fit right. then i got the trd. it was also a good intake but the downfall is that the filter hits the fog light if you have a S.
i would recomend TRD or AEM. With the AEM i did not hear the ticking sound as much as i did with the TRD. the ticking sound is normal just amplified by the intake.
go with the best price unless you want choice in color then go AEM.

Performance-wise, the difference between those three CAIs should be VERY nominal.

with the TRD intake, is it a really tight squeeze when installed (on an "S" model)? If it is tight fit and squishes behind the fog lights, that isn't good, is it?

It's not really tight. You'll be fine with the TRD CAI. Don't worry man.

I think I'm having second thoughts with the intake. My dealership told me that it was ok that I install the K&N TYphoon intake instead of the TRD. After all, they fully sponsor the K&N products and is a distributor of them too which they say will not void my car's warranty.

They told me that the K&N Typhoon air intake kit was better than AEM because of the high density plastic K&N uses to reduce heat absorption from the pipe. AEM is all alumminum which is 100% conducted by heat. By the time the air gets up there, it's already hot instead of cool. Plus, K&N filter had a much better record for the high amount of CFM entering through their filters.
