    TRD muffler . . .

    a few questions. . .

What size piping does the TRD muffler have?

Is it possible to get custom piping and still keep it a bolt on muffler?

and will the muffler get louder?

well depends i guess on muffler, my friend has a custom 2.25" catback piping with a magnaflow muffler, oval type on an integra gsr, that thing is LOUD, he got harrassed by cops so many times about it, he just pops it in neutral whenever he see's a cop and keeps it there for about a block

that's cool..i might order a catback from alpha werkz and use their catback piping, and put it on a trd muffler, i'm not a fan of those big oval mufflers lol, only reason i had one on my SI was cause it was for 150 bucks and it was a catback =P

nah , it won't be that much louder. just make sure you get a resonator put in right after the cat or it will sound very high pitched and shitty. it doesn't matter, you don't have to match pipe sizes .. what you do is you get the muffler and tell them you want custom piping to fit the TRD muffler and they will put an adaptor on before the flange to match the piping size and it will bolt on fine.

Our cars DO NOT sound high pitched, shitty depends on your opinion though...Meaning if you don't like the firing order of a 4 cylinder which produces that flapping sound, then yes its sounds shitty. I wish I had a camera with sound to let you hear it right before the resonator.

the trd muffler does an excellent job of creating a sweet sound, but at the same time, keeps the decibles down alot...mostly b/c of the shape of the muffler and the internal walls..but put an ebay muffler on the end=an oval bullet shaped, and yes..its obnoxiously loud...

i have the alphawerks cat-back piping and just put on the TRD muffler last week cuz I needed somethin legal...the alphawerks exhaust sounded really nice and deep...but a cop didnt like the loudness 4 some reason...I was parked! so dont know how that went down...but they dont have a CARB #, so I had 2 swap 2 somethin legal....so I left the alphawerks piping and slapped on the TRD muffler and it's not loud @ all...the only thing u have 2 do is cut off the part that sticks out on the end of the flange...it should come off cleanly with a hand saw and a lil force...the intake is louder now IMO...but I'll give a def answer after I get some new valve cover bolts and replace my valve cover gasket and I'll get some vids w/ sound on here 4 u guys.
