trd engine cover and other stuff

wanted to know if anybody knew where i could find the trd engine cover for the 2000 corolla motor...also, would i be able to swap out the valve cover off of my 2000 corolla to a 2000+ celica, could i swap out my stock corolla harness to the celica harness and, does anybody know how i can adjust the rev limiter on the corolla so that it could redline at about 7000rpms instead of the stock 6300rpms?? i know its a lot of questions im asking but all these things just pop in my head and i dont know if anything will work and i just dont want to go out and buy these things and find out that they wont fit....well, if anybody knows the answers to my questions, that would be great!!!!!!!!!!!

    thanx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you have the 98, you can’t use the engine cover from a VVT-? (2000+) engine, the coils are sitting on spark plugs directly and screw into the valve cover and it also has holes for screws to hold the engine cover in place.

The 98/99 (non VVT-I) engine valve covers are different in that respect and the spark plug wires protrude out more and our coils are located on the side of the cylinder head. I’ve seen the TRD carbon fiber covers sell on eBay a few times, for around $150; if you want something nice, have your valve cover polished to a mirror finish and maybe have it anodized; this maybe cheaper that trying to buy a TRD cover and getting it to fit.

As for the Celica valve covers, Celica GT has the same engine as the Corollas (1ZZ-FE), but the Celica GT-S has a more powerful engine, don’t recall what it was… 2ZZ something; anyway the valve cover from a GT-S will not fit your 1ZZ head (to my best knowledge).

I believe the VVT-I engines have higher revs and possibly engines with manual transitions vs. autos. Increasing your redline is probably not safe without adjustment to timing (lack of VVT-i) and lowering of the cylinder compression ratio, but this is where my knowledge ends and someone else could fill in the rest.
