    TRD CAI

i called toyota dealer nearby and inquired regarding the trd cai
and i read from this forum that this cai won't fit an 04' s model

so i called them to confirm...which is right...
but i also know that someone here actually installed a trd cai on an s model..
    correct me if i'm wrong...

so can a cai fits an 04' s model?
    are there ways?

the unit comes with a disclaimer that it wont fit an S model (because of the fog lights). it will fit, however there is a little denting on the filter due to the light.

    no biggie. :)

I have a TRD CAI on my 2004 Corolla S. Works and fits fine, it's just you have to cram and dent the filter a bit to make it fit close to the foglight. Denting the filter doesn't affect the performance of the unit at all. Go ahead and get it. I love the sound too.

TRD says that there is no plan to fix this problem with 03/04 model Corolla S. Perhaps the new XRS will have a new modified CAI designed a whole lot better (with a proper fit hopefully).

go for it... but just remember thats its not going to keep your engine under warranty b/c its not really supposed to be used on the S. So take it off before any maint. work
