    TRD CAI or exhaust?

    Hello everyone,

I have a question. I only have enough money to buy a TRD CAI or a TRD exhaust for now. Which should I buy. Which will give me more HP. The dealer told me the exhaust would!!! From what I have read, that should not be right. I know the exhaust would give me probably a better sound than the CAI......so I'm not sure what to do.....What do you guys think?

    Thanks,

    Mat

    exhaust

i would say exhaust. CAI gives like 2-3 horspower realistically and exhaust will sound better and prolly give you more HP then 2-3. CAI does make your engin sound nice tho. helped my sound alot but i dunno about HP gains.

i would say go for the CAI
coz the exhaust wont give you much power gain except the deep sound
and you can definitely feel the power gained from the CAI after u installed it
+ CAI will improve your gas mileage too
its still your choice, just my 2 cents =)

I would get the exhaust out of the way since it's more expensive. Then it'll be easier to buy the CAI on your next run.

go with the CAI save money on the exhaust and dont get TRD you can get a borla exhaust for 100 dollars less last time I checked. Or get the magnaflow if you want real gains for the same price if not less.

I would get the exhaust first because of the sound. Intake is nice too, but if you want to get noticed, an exhaust will be good to have as a first mod, then intake after that.

TRD CAI first. You won't regret it.

    Re: Sorry rolla-dink

I tried. Smart move. the TRD CAI will fit the TRD S/C if you decide on it later. The Injen :( :( :( doesn't...

WHen it comes down to the CAI, why doesnt' TRD allow you to install a CAI with the supercharger? Won't the engine run better? I would think so because of the increase amount of air coming into the intake. Probably the check engine light will come on, unless you got the computer tuned or something like the unichip to handle that.

who knows. I beleive if we truly had enough investigative powers, we'd find that some of the CEL that are failing are a result of operator error or neglect in the handling of the MAF. Hell I screwed mine up to the point the CEL didn't even have a chance to come on.

    hehe...
