    Transmission Slip

I tried to search to see if anybody else had any problems with the auto tranny slipping.

Today while driving to class, I took a left turn at a stop sign to get onto the road I needed. This road is right by campus so cars are always packed and people have a bad habit of NOT crossing at the cross walks. Well right after I turned left, I saw somebody in the middle of the road so I slammed my brakes not to hit this person. After this guy crossed, i just tapped my gas so i could go and then all of a sudden my RPMs jumped to I suspect about 3k before the transmission caught. I didn't see the tach but I suspect about 3 grand because I actually spun tires pretty bad and jerked hard as heck when the transmission finally caught. I changed my transmission fluid about 10-15k, i can't remember exactly.

I feel dumb asking this but does anybody have any ideas what might be the problem? I have set up an appointment with the dealership for Thursday. I forgot to check the transmission fluid so I'll be doing that first thing 2morrow morning. Any ideas guys? Thanks.

    Matt

Low ATF is a possible guess, but there could be many other guesses as well. Valve bodies sometime have those same symptoms, but on such a new car, it's doubtful.

thanks bimmernut! i just woke up so I'm about to go outside in a min and check on the ATF.

edit: the cold tranny fluid level is at the bottom right? If so, it doesn't look like my tranny fluid is low. Dadgum I hope I'm not gonna lose my car for a while to the dealership.
