Engine tranny oil change

    tranny oil change

    I got a certificate for a free tranny oil change (along with the filter) im gunna go get it done sometime in the real near future. anything i should look for when geting this done to make sure they do it right? the certificate is for AAMCO. car is geting up on 40k and its a manual. THANKS!

    I don't think manual cars have a transmission filter. Atleast mine doesn't. I suggest you put some GM Synchromesh. Good stuff.

    on all 93-97 vehicles...there is no filter for the manuel transmission...all there is is the manuel transaxle lubricant(API GL-5 75W-90 Gear Oil) in a differential housing...containing a fill and a drain bolt...i would just make sure they put them on tightly-w/ an auto/w filter-theres 15 or so bolts -that can come loose if they didnt put them on to proper torque-pan fell out one time on my old ford taurus-a stupid young kid was workin on the car...

    hmmm, well, its got a 70 dollar limit to it. im sure i dont even need the change. but i dont wanna have probs with it later down the road. pple tend to do poor jobs on shit when they know its free...

    LOL! no kiddin-i dont think they let the mechanic know about money issues-unless its a tightly run shop-where the mechanic takes the check!!!! that would be funny..
