Changing synchro's is not the same thing as changing spark plugs. If you're looking at doing a tranny rebuild start talking to local tranny shops. As for the transmission fluid its safe to say every 60K would be a good interval. When I do my next oil change (and first since owning) I'm going to do a good service with plugs, fuel filter, O2, etc and change out the tranny fluid with some of the Royal Purple gear oil to see if its any difference. Automatics you either change them every 30K or leave them alone, I've seen too many auto's that were changed 100K in and then kick the bucket 10K later.

i didnt say they were the same as changing spark plugs lol
i was just wondering, where would be a good place to buy synchros from, as for the tranny fluid, yea i most likely will change it, ive put on 20K miles on it and it has 100K on the odo, so wont be a bad idea to change em. My third gear synchro is shot, or at least i think it is so was wondering how much they are for.

I'm not sure who would make aftermarket tranny parts for Toyota. I'd give your local stealership or indepedent tranny shop a call and see how much they get them for. I'm just curious as to why you would pick up the syncro's, do you plan on doing the rebuild yourself?

cost between parts and labor alone will be costly to rebuild. better of getting a used tranny and swaping it yourself.

    lol stealership!!!!

That's what I generally recommend for manual transmissions. Its too easy a swap.
