    Toyota's take on the Tuner

Toyota's response to the tuner phenomenon is the Scion (pronounced SEE-on). Boxy and bold, the Scion line offers car buyers an imported tuner look, right off the showroom floor.

Customizing isn't expected with the Scion, it's required. Each car is sold as an automotive version of a blank slate. Owners essentially build their own vehicle, as tuner owners do.

Options include underdash lighting, an illuminated shifter, a ground-effects kit (the wings and fender treatments some tuner owners favor), Japense-style clear taillights, rear spoilers and color, and exterior design elements like graphic dots and logos.

Buyers can design their own vehicles on the Scion Web site, www.scion.com. The three basic Scion models are the xA, an SUV; the tC, a sedan and the boxy, van-like xB. All have a base price of between $13,000 and $16,000. The Scion attracts the youngest average age buyer of any car line sold in the United States, 38.

sigh-on is how its pronounced or so i've heard. the Scion's are cool over all but someone such as my self or what i like in other words are more luxurious and high powered cars. from all the cars we have owned I guess you can say that i am used to these types of things.if i had the money sure i would buy one but only if it was used to drive around the city.
