Oh yeah. I read about it in car and driver magazine. They liked it a lot. Especially the sporty aspirations of a pickup truck with a 6 speed manual transmission.

245hp is impressive. I don't think there isn't another truck in its class that has more HP. And u have the option to purchase the supercharger for 300+hp

Nice how its doing a fake burnout on only one wheel. Didn't car and driver only review the 4-runner though?

Oh yeh and its pretty sweet if it lives up to toyota's rants about it beating 350z's on the track..

i still think its under powered. 245 hp for a truck isn't impressive. i know its all about tq. but it still is lacking some imo.

wtf... why are they trying to compare to a 350Z???? is it just because of the price and hp???? why doesn't toyota compare it to the Hemi..??? just my thoughts.!!!

Read the article closely. They used the 350Z as a benchmark for handling and in the end the truck pulls off 0.90 lateral gs on a 300 foot skid pad, which is actually better than the bench mark itself.

Yeh I know, but they are still claiming it will beat it around the track. Handling is a lot of the deal on a track, but the 350z is faster by what 2 secs to 60? And may make up for the slightly better handling. And it may come down to the track.

Read carefully...they say "it will AT LEAST run circles with one". They never claim it would flat out beat one, but yes..it could depending on the driver and the track.

Because you can't compare it to a Hemi. First off Hemi trucks aren't considered "sporty" unless you go with an SRT-10, Hemi Sport Quad Cab, or Ram Rumble Bee, in which case it would be WAAAAYYYYY outclassed if you figure in price range. So what do you want to compare it to? How about something near the same price range and smaller than the Ram (because you should be comparing the Tundra to the Ram and NOT the Tacoma). The Dodge model you would compare would be the Dakota. The "sportiest" Dakota is equipped with the 3.7L Magnum V6 which puts out about 210 hp and 235 tq. Which proves that this is in fact an awesome truck...

    Infiniti 350Z

    0-60: 5.66 secs

    X Runner

    0-60: 6.9 secs

That is less than a second and a half. If you throw a supercharger on that truck, it will gain 30% on the torque and HP, which will make it top 300 HP and close to 320 foot pounds torque. Yes, it will eat the 350Z.

I want it... I wanna drive it at least, if it does handle as well as they say... mmmmm... and its a nice looking truck too, does anyone know the payload capacity and townig capacity though? I'm sure to make the truck handle as it does, the payload capacity probably suffered, so it's still not as usable as a truck, but as long as it can still carry a load of wood... its a nice truck :p

The loading capacity should be the same as the V6 runner, which is around 4500 lbs.

    but they aren't claiming with a s/c

Heres what car and driver wrote "Named for its extra frame-stiffening X-brace, the feisty Tacoma X-runner can outlap a nissan 350z, Toyota claims."

1.5 secs can make a difference. But I'll take back my comments on the speed, cuz we don't know the speed of the X-runner. They reviewed a tacoma double cab that is 4wd. The x-runner is gonna be only rwd and have a LSD, I think Toyota should host a race against Nissan....

from what i remember is that there will be limited quantity so most likely no price break...and around $26,500...a bit pricey, considering that u can get the TRD S/C...it will run u about 30K to leave the lot...
