    Toyota to Revive Sports-Car Lineup

    [img2=right]http://TRDforums.com/assets/newsimages/mr2.jpg[/img2]The AIADA newsletter reported that Toyota executives overseas say they are gearing up to revive the automaker's sports-car lineup, according to The Wall Street Journal.
    The new model "is going to be a global project, not one aimed at one region more than another," said Tokuo Fukuichi, a Toyota official from France. According to Shinzo Kobuki, Toyota managing officer in charge of development of hybrid systems, the company wants more sporty cars under its brand to compete with German luxury automakers such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and BMW.

    They made Scion for affordability on price and gas and easy customization. Any higher end sports car from Toyota will be under the Lexus badge so they can charge the right price without harming their reputation.

    I have no beliefs what-so-ever that Toyota will be back into a sports car market at any point in the future.
