Well no, things like that tend to be black clouds for car companies.

    Re: Toyota is in trouble.

Can you say "unintended acceleration"? Most of you were too young to experience the devastating effects this trait had on Audi's cars.... Let's just say that resale plummeted. Seeing as only Camry's (and Camry clones) are effected, I feel much safer :D !

I find it hard to believe that only camrys are affected. I mean, its the same company making the parts.

I can believe that it only effects one model. I'm guessing that you're too young to remember Audi's incident with the 5000's. Unintended accleration destroyed (pun intended!) that model and eventually the sales of the rest of it's models. ANd it may not be the same company making the parts. Toyota doesn't manufacture each and every part that goes into a Corolla or a Camry... they have contracts with suppliers.

Haha. Well i gues its not too funny for the people with those cars. Im just happy i got da 5 spd, if it ever happened to me i would just jam the sucker into neutral, and maybe watch some pistons fly out the hood, hehehe, that would be kinda cool.

Some years ago certain Ford cars had this same problem. It was the top story on the national news for a few weeks. Ford admitted the problem, fixed the booboo, and that was that. Their sales weren't hurt and now it's ancient history. I suspect Toyota will do the same.
