didn't they come out with the "upgrade" to the falken 512's? i forgot whats the new # for the new one...possibly the 912's?

for 912's and my size (195/55/15) the UTQG rating is 480-A-A. i guess an A isn't too bad compared to an AA right? its a V rating but it costs almost twice the price of mine..at least for that website...

i just looked at discounttiredirect.com and the same size 912's tires are only 79 a pop...HUGE diff from 116 a pop but the rating is only 360 instead of 480...i guess thats the big diff ..

if you go to treadepot.com and search for 195/55/15 tires...look down the list until you see Good Year's Respondedge tire.

    that tire tread looks funky!

The Proxes4 are AAA. That's a big difference.

The Toyo Proxes4 are more balanced, excel in all handling areas better, and have more tread life than the Falken Ziex ZE-512. You can compare the 2 ratings below. But even besides that, I can personally vouch for Toyos. You can't beat the excellent grip and handling from such a price effective all season tire. It may be an all season tire, but its a high speed all season tire with a V rating.

Customer ratings are relative and the 512's has almost twice as much ratings then Toyos on that site. As for treadwear Proxes has a 300 Tread wear rating, Ziex512 has a 360. Also the 512's are about half the price. I have 512's on my steelies and they last forever.

hehe well I've beaten and abused my first set of Toyo Proxes4 and they still last a long time and stick to the road. Cheaper tires of course will have more ratings since more people can afford them. But once you experience a set of Proxes4, you won't go back.

You can actually use the 205/50/15 sizing instead. The tire diameters are almost exactly the same. It's just a little wider.

You can do it yourself with a baseball bat. That's what I did. It took only 30 minutes with a floor jack.
