    Question is not quite clear?

You need a wheel that will at least support the wider width. I believe the minimum for a 215 or 225 series tire is a 7" width of wheel - depends on the tire itself.

Also depends on what you currently or plan to have - ride height wise. If your dropping it even a small amount, even with the optimal wheel offset - you might be rubbing the fender. Choice would be to roll the finder lip or increase ride heigth.

Try this app - not 100% guaranteed - but better than guessing.

do a google search for miata tire calc.

and 225 is the biggest you can fit on a 7" wide wheel I think. Its also probably about as wide as you can go on stock Corolla fenders. I have 215/45's on my 17x7's

i mean whats the widest section width that will fit on a corolla s 01.

right now im riding 205/40WR 17s

in the future i would like to go wider, maybe 215 or 225..shit maybe even 235.

i know it'll probably rub but what would i need to do to make it fit.

problem is fitting those on the car. 205 is MAX for coilovers. oem style struts, you might be able to squeeze by with 215.

Its hard to say for sure. There are many variables to consider. One, some tires are wider than others. Some falkens for example run narrow, so a 215 Falken Ziex might not be as wide as the same size Nitto Neogen. 215's will fit no problem if you are at stock height. 225's probably would as well. If you have a heavy system in the trunk, you're lowered then you'll more likely rub. I say go wider, and if you rub, just roll the fenders.

    Just curious...but why?

And you all are forgetting about offset....rubbing against the fender isnt the only place you have to worry about rubbing if your offset is wrong with a wider wheel.

well yeah i meant with offset already considered.

i was going wider for better traction.

it is a corolla, so a lot of traction shouldn't be an issue. running 215 would be good or maybe a 225. maybe go with a 7.5" wide rim and then running a 40 or 45, but that would depend lowering, offset and wheel size

you can always 'fix' the offset by running spacers, but then you have to roll the fenders more. you should do what this guy did. run 14"x8" wheels on REALLY stiff springs without much of a drop and R-Compound rubber.
