Could be a number of things. Anything from injector noise (sticking or loud solenoid), a vacuum switching valve noise (normal), if you have ABS - could be it's self check feature, a check ball (vacuum) in the brake booster could be worn out, caliper or torque plate is loose, or possibly have a crack in the rotor.

I'd try and norrow it down by seeing if it varies in intensity or changes frequency with varying engine speeds. Check if it does this in all gears (ticking in reverse, neutral, in gear). A quick lookover under the hood might turn something up - anything out of the ordinary. Like missing or loose vaccum hoses, tools left under the hood, obvious signs of damage, etc.

i've looking under the hood and didn't really notice anything..
i think it might be the intake...cuz today when i drove the car, and stopped at a light i noticed that the car was choking, tried to put my foot on the gas pedal cuz it felt like my car was gonna die on me...
must be something wrong with the intake.....

im pretty sure its not in the intake if its only doing it while your braking...could be a problem in the vacuum system if your car is choking at idle, check all ur vacuum lines, make sure theres no cracks in them and make sure that thier all connected where they should be...especially the one that comes off the brake booster

If it happens under braking everytime - then you have a chance of diagnosing it pretty quickly. Those intermittent problems are always a PITA to solve.

Could be the PCV vlave in the intake manifold. If that is a little loose - the car will idle weird. Ticking noise under braking would be from the change in engine vacuum at this valve.

Another possibility is the throttle plate or throttle body itself. The manifold vacuum comes from the restricted flow of air through the intake manifold, as an engine is basically a big air pump, under braking - the throttle will close down, creating strong manifold vacuum that is used to help increase the power to your braking, through the brake booster.
