LOL. Yeah...it wasn't one of those "well, I'll leave it for now and fix it later" sort of deals. I about burnt my hand trying to get it, too - got a little hot with 300 or so amps flowing through it.

    throttle cable readjustment...

So there's quite a bit of slack in the throttle cable. The throttle plate doesn't even start to open until the gas pedal is about 3/4" down. I've read somewhere about people tightening up the throttle cable so that the gas pedal is a little more "responsive". But others were also worried about too much force being applied to the throttle with that extra 3/4" of travel to the floor board.

    Fix for that:

Pull the carpet back and stuff a folded rag or small towel under the carpet. Replace carpet...problem solved.

I also re-did my engine grounding and just about welded my 10mm wrench to the negative battery post. Lots of pretty fireworks. Fun stuff!

Yep. WD-40 on the throttle spring. I think lithium grease is probably a better choice for the cable itself - it sticks a little better. You can get it in a spray can also. There's also a spring on the gas pedal itself. Check that, too.
