this civic makes me want to trade in my car

Theres just something about a clean hatch. I think its well done. I dont really like spoon wheels or the sideskirts, but the car came together.... right about perfect.

Hmmm maybe I'm just out of tune with all of you but I think that car looks like anus compared to some of the equally modded corolla's out there.

the car looks like anus? lol! compared to some of the rollas out there? lol! lol lol!

I wish there was someone we could point out in the rolla community with parts on par with this lil hatch! 5zigens just arent on the same level as spoons, "trd style" is just not the same as sparco! but his brakes DO need a little love! painted calipers on that car? c'mon now! :D

I prefer the coupe to a hatchback, BUT that one is killer. I WANT THOSE SEATS!

A good camera also makes the car all the more stunning, Helping are the angles and contrast of the pictures.

well, since the corolla has been in the US since 68.... do a quick search and you will find 100s of unique, yet awesome, corollas as opposed to the "been there and done that" civics and integras. they all look the same anymore, you can go on google or even hondatech and find 30 other hatches that look identical to that in minutes. go to club4ag or just search the internet for some truly unique, classy, and well built corollas.

    thanks, please come again.

lol, what a corny last line!
The corolla nowadays just don't seem to compare, "quality of parts" wise, with the hondas! And youre right, the very old AE86's carry all of the true tuning weight for the corollas, but if you say that theres 30 other civic hatches that look tastefully lightly modded (thats the category i give this car!) the same as this, Trust me, the 30 other truly unique ae86s look the same. When I first wrote the post, I was referring to relatively newer cars though, I forget about that car altogether a lot of times!

man, you should Really go that route if you plan on keeping the rolla, your ride is already classy enough for that to really fit in your scheme. hit me up on updates, and youre right, its all about the picture quality!

    what a corny post....

the "very old ae86s"? as in '84?
i was referring to all the ke and te series corollas as well, not just the ae86. copy and paste the mod list for this car and then tell me its "lightly modded", you wont because you cant, because this car is heavily modded from its stock form. its just looks "lightly modded" because there are 1000 others JUST LIKE IT! your car is lightly modded, try again. and this is an early 90s hatch, we are talking almost 15 years old for the body style.... not new for a civic at all. all civics and integras are either "rice" or "JDM" anymore, or else they get hated on for not being either of the two. im glad youd trade your superior car for a run of the mill civic.... your bad, not mine. but dont try and tell me that there arent 1000 other civics almost identical to this car. and about the "quality of parts" line.... the corolla carries a far more extensive line of performance parts, for a far longer time.

I assume you're talking about the US since that's most relevant to us. That being the case, Civics have a much more broad selection of parts available for nearly all of the bodystyles produced. You really can't say the same for Corollas. Does the AE92 get as much aftermarket love as the Civic from the same period? Definitely not.

so mugen, spoon, and all those other parts on this honda and for others are made in america? no.... you make no valid point. and if youre talking engine swap kits as parts... then yeah. but that only because toyotas 4age in all its forms is entirely transplantable throughout the years and models. the ae92 gets a ton of aftermarket "love" just less than the dime a dozen civic, further proving my point that they are lego cars. every other domestic market besides the US uses other, more capable, platforms than civics. to start another argument, lets compare the ae92 gts to the ef si and crx stock for stock.... hahaha toyota hands down in every category, no? or we can go way back into the mid 80 at all of hondas laughable cars as opposed to the ae86 corolla and the celica/supra. again, hands down to toyota.... oem and aftermarket.

as for the corolla/civic thing. quality of parts is there because the demand is there, the R&D is done, theres nothing left TO do for those cars then to improve on the ridiculous array of parts they already have. i dont see that as a reflection in the quality of the car itself.

its a nice hatch but theres a certain aura/feeling that comes with having something unique. even if i cant bolt on a b18 and one of its 2394629342 turbos

    Civic
Pros:easiest car to "tune", 17712721782222 of every part in every color and size for it.good cars

Cons: 17712721782222 of every part in every color and size for it has been used in every combination atleast twice, making a trulyunique civic would be a task and a half.

Corollathe newer models,(i think the ae86 speaks for itself)
Pros: "Unique" in the tuning community, quality car, cheap, takes less to be different.

Cons: lack of aftermarket, cost of enhancements.

its all about what youe looking for in a car

there arent 1000 other civics almost identical to this car. its mod list is what makes me really Enjoy the aesthetic look of the car. and the mods i enjoy most are mods that can be found on other cars that are more expensive and "new." I like the car because its body style doesnt look quite outdated, Yet. thats why i called the AE86 old. its body style, even though i like it modded, still looks outdated. but this civic doesnt. not quite, maybe a little in the headlights. sparcos are not a rare part, but they are quality. same with spoon. I really like how this car represents wholly the new aftermarket for car parts in the 'import' scene.

I can't argue about the 80s car scene because I dont know much about it. but I'm sure toyota had it locked back then with its celica and corolla models, right? nowadays, honda definitely runs the gammot on the market (grocery getter turned tuner market atleast), theyre owners shell out for quality parts on their cars (1995+), and I like seeing what they end up with a lot. Some of our owners do. Not as many. Peter and phozenstone can measure up, jspec after a few more mods, but thats about it for us here in the states it seems. hell, its special when we see our guys get coilovers instead of springs :D

i wouldnt trade my car in for the hatch, lol! its just an eyecatching thread name!

man be quiet i have nothing but love for vvt-i, i've been here for over 3 years. i'm not trying to down the corolla scene or anything, if i did, my bad. i own a corolla and drive it often. the s2000 isn't even in the same class with this hatchback, i was just trying to defend it b/c i thought it looked good/liked its parts!
