theory: shiny car = attracts birds = gigantic doo-doo

Maybe it's because this is my first car that I bought with my own money, or because I now pay meticulous attention to keeping my car clean. Either way, I swear birds can't seem to stay away from my car, particularly right after I wax it.

I spent three hours polishing and buffing and buffing and polishing yesterday only to find a fist-sized bird doo-doo on my roof! Needless to say I was steamed! But I swear, I've never had the problem with doo-doo on the car as much as I've had so far with my Corolla. It's driving me mad!

I swear it always happens. Happens to me too.

My cousin had a terrible problem though. Even worse than the doo doo stains.

He drives a black car. One day he detailed it really well, clay barred it, Meguires 3 step, and finished it off with a coat of Meguires gold class. The next morning he hears these sounds by his car. It was a turkey scratching the hell out of his car! Turns out that the turkey saw its reflection in the car's paint and thought it was another turkey so it started scratching it and tried to kill its reflection. So my cousin took a brick and threw it at the bird. He killed it, lol.

I have a superwhite Corolla, and I don't seem to have too much problem with bird crap on my car. I park in the open most of the day and in the carport at night. I would say since I got the Corolla in 2003, I've been hit like only a few times only. Maybe it has something to do with the color. Do birds like darker color? I'm not sure.

For those concerned about the cat depicted in the SportKa clip, Ford maintains: "The action in the video clip was totally computer generated, and we would like to assure you that no animal was harmed in its making."

Do birds see in black/white or in color? I have a silver rolla and I hardly ever get tagged by birds. I'm assuming it blends in with the ground better if they can't see color. But, what do I know. :?
