Well, I think it might be time for me to get out of my corolla and into something a little more fun.
I am just getting tired of not being able to get the parts that I want (and for a reasonable price), and an engine swap being a little more than I want to pay. But the thing that really pisses me off is the complete lack of power in my corolla, and it being an auto tranny.
I am thinking of selling it (only has about 120,000 km's on it [~75,000 miles)]) as is (custom interior and everything, maybe part some stuff out if anyone here really wants it (though I dont have much)) and getting a CRX or something like that, and drop in a newer engine. Should be able to break even with a decent CRX or maybe even a HB civic (for the cargo area). Though I may shy away from the CRX becuase of the winter here - need something with a little more winter traction than that, and my corolla barely is enough as it is [stock].

Just hope that I can get enough for my corolla to get something that is fun and fast enough (honda parts around here are cheap as hell, plus my neighbor is a honda tech and is always doing engine swaps/etc for friends)

That being said, I'm not completely throwing the towel right now, just been getting really pissed off lately with it...

You know, for the price that you're going to pay for a Honda engine swap, you could have one in your Corolla. It's because of the price of the engine. Just a thought.

I have 5 grand in my motor so far, and i am very happy with it! I have speed and durability. It's up to you though, you can do the honda thing like everyone else or be different with the corolla. just a thought!

Its not whether I want a honda or a rolla really, it's about getting some more power/fun without spending a shitload more. Plus mine's auto right now :(

DrTweak: I know what you're getting at, but I can actually get all the labour done on the swap for free (maybe a bit for the wiring, but that's all). The way I see it is I could get a new car with a swapped engine and break even selling the rolla, whereas I would have to spend 1200+for the engine, and $1400? for labour and a manual conversion.
