    the 01 cat backs

anybody that has purchased a 01 or equivalant cat back system what catalytic converter did u purchase cuz they have to be welded on which make this a difficult mod im guessing unless the catbacks from companies like alphawerks, and thermal r&d are selling there catbacks with already welded on converters which i dont know cuz i aint bought one, so anybody that has bought a alpahwerks, thermal r&D, of a magna flo cat back exhaust system for your o1 what did u do about the cat ?

the alphawerks system for the 98-02 is actually a pre-cat system, all u have to do it cut off the high flow cat on the alphawerks, then weld the system on after your stock cat, u can bolt this kit on, but i wouldnt trust it cuz it's a lil clamp, welding it on assures it more

I had a local shop make one for me..paid $232.20 after tax for a 2.25" catback and muffler installed. It's welded on tight..not going anywhere. I could've gone about $100 cheaper if I bought an eBay muffler, but I love the sound of mine..

It's not that expensive to have one welded..shouldn't be, anyways. 75 bucks for just the catback (not muffler)..and that's for the whole thing installed.
