I’ve done enough reading on the 2zz vvtli engine to know that the oil pump is its weak spot. Has there been any work arounds to remedy this engine from getting oil starved?

Has anyone put in a baffled oil pan? Performance oil pump?

I am curious because I would love to put this engine in my 12 Yaris.

    Thanks,
    Omni

In my opinion( From a 100 or so track days) stock pump hold up just fine, i had a bearing go out from detonation before a starve.

Not against it but good cheap insurance.

Lateral loads on a FF car are reallyy hard to get past 1.1-1.2G so factory setup you should be fine.
