    tail lights...

ok I know there have been posts about how to do this before but I just can't find them... I'm going to paint my tail lights with the exception of the backup lights whats the best way of going about doing this... how do I remove them from the car what paint should I use... should I clearcoat... Ive never painted tails before anything would help...

try looking for lens painters off eBay...they go for 20 bucks for a small can.
I'd recommend taking the lights off and thoroughly cleaning them so there are no dirts etc. Evenly spray a light coat and wait about 5 mins to dry. Repeat until you get the desired look.
I dont think clear coat is necessary, but won't hurt.

    /\ like that?

buy Testors Candy apple red paint (they have it in the model car section at Wal-mart)

its translucent so just spray thin even coats till the color matches up wiith the rest of the light

as far as masking off, i just used some tape to mask off the area which was kinda weird since it was an oval then i taped some pages off an old magazine all around the rest of the light and any other part i thought might be hit with paint,

couldnt of turned out better, paint doesnt crack, no splatter and matches perfectly

not even, just cut the tape into strips and layer it to make a circle...just make it a little bigger and itll come out fine

The little silver rocket will look 100x w/o the amber rear lens, now you just need clear bulbs for the front.

paint thinner wud take it off im guessing, seeing as its only a thin layer without clear coat...either way, if you do it right, its gonna look so professional, you really wont want too
