What is your current set-up for suspension? Is it lowered? Do you have tires, wheels, struts/springs, coilovers, etc, etc. Just asking because if you dont have at least some good set of tires, your handling will be poor. You'll be oversteering like crazy.

The downpipe is pretty close to the sway bar. Having a bigger one will get in the way. Thats why nobody makes one, nor have I seen one. Besides having a bigger front bar will cause more understeer.

I agree, if you got some cheapo tires, you won't see much improvement on handling. So maybe you should upgrade the tires and rims first.
If you got good tires already, then go for the sway bars! If you change the rear sway bar only, you will have lots of oversteer which is really bad on FF car. So I think you should get the front sway bar too.

    Sway bars on a '95

Hi, all. Newbie here, though I've lurked for a little while and have been over at the Corolland forums for a bit.

At any rate, I am interested in helping to make the handling a bit more neutral and reduce body roll by working with the sway bars on my '95 Corolla wagon. I found a rear 19mm sway bar for $150 (with free shipping) from Performance Suspension Tuning (http://www.p-s-t.com/sport/sisway.html). That setup uses the stock front bar. Archive posts here indicate that '98-'02 suspensions are the same, and more options are available for that generation(like the Hotchkis setup from The Tire Rack), but other posts indicated that I can't take advantage of newer front bars due to downpipe interference, right?

Is anyone using a rear 19mm bar and stock front on their '93-'97 Corolla? How does it affect the handling? Any negative consequences?

Alternatively, what actually is the stock front sway bar size on this generation? 19mm? Yeah, I could measure my car, but I'm 12 time zones away right now and might be interested in ordering this so it's ready to install when I return home for the summer.

Thanks for your help and patience with the many questions!

    Thanks

Thanks, guys. The car is really bone-stock. I guess I should just wait until the current cheap but quiet and comfortable tires wear out or are relegated to winter duty. No rush; the car handles very decently as it is.

i would not recomend putting a sway bar on the front , this will increase understeer. strut tower brace is better for the front . cusco makes a lower suspension piece for the front , check out rhdjapan.com
