I think Toyota needs a new performance car in their lineup to compete with...honda's s2ks, mazda rx8s, nissan 350zs, subaru stis, and mitsu evo8s...the MR-S is a little underpowered compared to the other cars in this category...
The Supra has been away for too long...but I think Toyota holding up on it, to release it along with the new generation of upcoming Japanese high performance cars (the new GT-R, the new RX7, and Honda's replacement for the NSX)
But until then, Toyota should fill in the void and drop a new performance kind of car.
A more beefed up MR-S would be sweet![/quote]

Closest to hearing anything was a pic i saw on corksport.com. Looks close to an rx-8, but who knows if its even close to looking like this.

well they wouldn't have had to discontinue either of em if they had just done a better job... but it doesnt mean we'll never see em again. maybe toyota's got something up its sleeve that'll blow us all away (prolly not)

Ok, since we're talking about toyota, I have a question:
Why did they make scion? Is it just for marketing purpose? I know that they are aiming at young people for buyers but in the actual cars I don't see a difference. I mean with lexus, there's luxury. But I don't see much of a distinction between the scion cars and toyota cars. Why go through the trouble of introducing a whole new lineup branded with a different name? Couldn't they much more easily came out with a toyota tc?
I told one of my friends about the scion tc the other day and he's never even heard of it yet. So I told him that scion is a new line up of toyotas and such, and then he said "so....it's basically a lower end toyota...".
I don't see any other car companies doing this...why is toyota?
