    Supercharger questions.

I have few questions to anybody who can answer them.

    1. Is it possible to intercool TRD SC and how?

    2. What is a water spray system for SCs?

    3. How to install boost gauge on TRD SC?

    4. How to increase performance of already installed TRD SC?

    5. What aspects of drivetrain are most important to monitor with SC? What gauges i should install?

    thanx

    5. EGT, wideband O2 and boost gauges are typically a good idea to make sure you're not leaning out. Fuel and oil pressure are also good ideas.

    Re: Supercharger questions.

    1. NO. Unless you really want to put in thousands of dollars customizing it and making it fit into your car.

    2. Your talking about water injection. Its usually only necessary if you want to add an intake. If your not running an intake, this isnt necessary. Water injection systems such as aquamist or by snow performance lowers the a/f and its much like putting in 110 octane.

    3. Go to matrixowners.com. Since the base and xr models have the same engines as corollas, most topics related to engines can be used on our engines. Just go there and click on the search button and type in your questions.

    4. You can add an intake, water injection, headers, exhaust (axle back or cat back), aftermarket cams. All of these mods will VOID the warranty on you SC though.

if you have toyota install the S/C, trd will warantee your car as long as you have it. If you do the install yourself, you only get one year warantee. But if you add any other mods like an intake, your warantee will be voided.

isnt EGT exhaust gas temp? Y would i want it for a sc. Its not like turbo that it is powered by those gasses. I know that when they go too high its bac for exhayst but engines temp is more inportant at that point. I have room for one more gauge. I have Boost and Air/Fuel ratio what else would i need. or in this case what else that will b usuful could i put in there?

EGT is a great guage because it will let you know when you are running too lean to where it could be damaging your engine.

As for your 3rd guage, go with a FUEL pressure. Those are the 2 MUST have for forced induction... Boost/fuel pressure

As far as getting more power out of the supercharger, the biggest way is by tuning. get a injector controller and a wideband o2 sensor to lean out the a/f ratio at WOT. The blower runs very rich... robbing power and fuel. With a proper tune and a 2.3" pulley its possible to pull off about 20+ horsepower. I have a whole performance kit on the way so i'll let everyone know how it goes in about 2 weeks.

As for water injection... you dont need it just for an intake. Its highly recommended with an intake because the exhaust gases are so high that it burns out the catalytic converter and could cause engine damage in the long run. It basically mist water and methanol into your intake pipe which absorbs alot of heat out of the intake charge. This results in a colder air temp which equals more hp (every 10 degrees colder is an additional 1% hp) and protection from engine knock, and colder exhaust temps which will save your engine, cats, and exhaust system.

Whew that was a long post!
