Stock 2004 head unit.... can take AUX adapter ?

Does the 2004 stock head unit take those PIE aux adapters ? I didn't notice any "aux" or "tape" button on the unit... Also, is it difficult to install... can you lead it to the glove box or below the unit ? I'd like to hookup my minidisc player to the stereo.... was using the tape deck adapter, but that's not an option now..

No, it doesn't. There is no audio-input solution for now.

Well yeah, but the stock head unit itself doesn't have the ability to have inputs as the question was asked.

Your solution would add a secondary device that would allow inputs. There is a difference :p

But, you'd be better off just getting a cheap FM modulator if you wanna go cheap. Otherwise just buy a new head unit.

I read the post... sounds promising, but how do you access the aux device ? as far as I can tell, the Corolla stock unit has 3 buttons "CD" "AM" and "FM | 2" ... Do you just press CD ?? And can you still use the stock CD player after this install...

    From PIE website..

It is compatible with all 1998 - 2004 Toyota vehicles EXCEPT the 2003-2004 Matrix and Prius and factory radios with a face code of AD6806 and AD680
    http://store.yahoo.com/logjam/pietoyaux.html

-anyone know their radio's face code ?

PIE website says this for instructions...

    "VERIFY OPERATION:
    1. With radio on, activate auxiliary device.
    2. Press "CD" or "AUX" button on radio to gain access to auxiliary audio input.
    3. Display on radio will show CD 1 TRACK 1, and the audio of the auxiliary device will be heard.
    4. Adjust volume levels of auxiliary device. (If applicable)"

OK.. found some dude that has done it on his 04 Corolla... but no install guide !

    CD Changer controls

From the PIE website it also says:

"Your vehicle must be equipped with a radio that has CD changer controls."

Does that mean it came with a CD Changer from the factory or do they all have CD changer controls?

Do you have to make holes in the dash to run the RCA cables thru ??
