the hole in your wallet where the money used to be....

FWIW, i believe thats the only effect this will have. I dont buy into the performance increase it supposidly provides.

oops yes i mean stinky was a typo..
what type of thinks exist to help our MPG?
ever since I got my rolla I drive a huge % on the freeway and always end up 27-29mpg. Kinda annoying when the stick shows 38mpg on the highway and I pull 10mpg less on a brand new car.

best way to improve mileage is to keep your foot out of it, and shift sooner (if you have the manual) either way, drive like grandma- get better mileage.

my guess is that you, like me, and almost anyone else wanting more power from the rolla push it a bit harder than you can if you want 40 mpg. to make horsepower you need air and fuel. fortunatly air is free :)

after putting the TRD CAI on, I drove about 3 hrs on a trip. I got 39 mpg on the highway. Ever since, I have gotten about 32 MPG in the city. I don't drive it hard, but am not a slow granny driver either. In TN, The Interstate speed limit is 70, so I go about 80. 80 MPH at 39 MPG rocks!

Never came in....I ended up with an empty bag.....I think Methane got the same thing too. Contacted Stinky about it, pm'd him the tracking info, and haven't heard anything after that. That was last August I believe, during the group buy. I think he just got too busy and I didn't want to keep emailng the guy.

m_a_b: so after you put your TRD CAI you got better MPG?

I installed a TRD air filter and i havent yet filled up my tank to see what MPG im doing but looking at it, it appears my MPG has improved. Im not sure if its because of the air filter or just because maybe I finally broke into the car? I crossed over 5K miles on it

yes, I am getting considerably better fuel efficiency. Like I said, though, you can't drive like a bat out of hell and expect it to get better or even stay the same - it will get worse! Right now, I am getting around 32-34 mpg in the city driving normal with the occassional stomp on the gas for fun. I'm also in east TN, so there are lots of mountains - I would expect that if you live somewhere flat, you would get even better mileage.
