    sri question

Hey I got a volant sri intake and what i noticed is that my car takes a while to accelerate but when i'm going about 30mph and gun it....it takes off....I don't know what it is....maybe the intake is too big....cuz the tubing is 3 inches or is that the way a sri is suppose to act......?

mine does the same thing... I think its just the way they are SRI's from what I've heard give you power in the higher rev ranges 3000+ so when you are at speed and drop a gear you hit those revs right away... I think off the line take offs are more torque based... some body who knows more about this correct me if I'm wrong but I think thats right...

the lack of acceleration is due to the 110hp motor

:yeadat: too, it would be awesome if Toyota would ever make a turbo'd corolla sometime in the future damn it would b tight . I had an Injen SRI and to tell u the truth power wise no increase or at least noticeable and well gas mileage did increase though...

my k&n custom setup is quite different from your experiences, everytime you step on the gas, you can hear it spool up like a turbo. I gunned it from a stop on a regular traffic and I left every single car beside me a good 8 car lengths. I guess that would be because the custom set up I had has a longer tube so the air flow is much cooler when it gets to the intake manifold. That's just my two sense. I wish you guys could hear it though. It's awsome just stepping on the gas even on regular driving.

My intake sounded like urs too and shit, a couple ppl asked me if I had a turbo set up on there and all I could say was no I wish I did lol :D. An SRI doesn't really help without a heat shield since the filter is sucking up all the hot air from the exhaust manifold....

Only way to go really is to make ur own custom intake just like Vamp did OR SilverNitrate even though the set up is kinda the same as a normal SRI on Silver's.
