Engine Sport Shift Tranny

    Sport Shift Tranny

    I was wondering if any of u guys know where i could get a sport shift tranny. I'm talkin about the semi-auto tranny on many audi's and acura's etc.....I really want to get one for the rolla that way u dont have to always deal with a clutch and shiftin n stuff.

    Tiptronic trannies? The MR-S has one. But wiring it would be a bitch, and i'm not sure if it would every work. Also, the celica gts comes with one. It's on the steering wheel.

    But why don't you just get a manual tranny? You can do a lot more with one then an auto.

    how much would it cost to buy and install a manual tranny

    Um, if you're gonna have a shop do it, don't even bother. It'll cost more money than it's worth. I'd say probably in the $5000-7000 range. Labor is a bitch

    its not that bad. It can't be that bad. Auto to manuals are done all the time :)

    I wonder if an 02 tranny would fit. Those seem to handle stress better then these 03's

    yeah but you don't know if the axels will work with your car. Plus, the tranny mounts might be completely differet.

    Not to mention you have the ECU to worry about. There has to be some subtle changes to the motors, which could mean some problems getting the MR-S ecu to run the engine properly. Plus the pin pattern on the ECU is probably different

    Buy a car w/ it. Thats the easiest way to get it.
