Engine Sparkplugs?

    pop off ur engine cover. also u'll need a spark-plug remover to take em out. o ya and if u touch one while ur cars on. u will die.

    Sparkplugs?

    Rollin a 2000 Corolla Ce with VVTI engine. i was just wondering, do these babys use spark plugs? i was thinking about changing them but when i went over and popped the hood i didnt see no sparkplugs...? if they do have plugs where would they b located?

    and when he says bike, he means bicycle.. motorcycles have spark plugs too.

    but to be helpful... unless you have over 100K you don't really need to replace your plugs.

    Who said anything about Gasoline? There are cars that are Diesel & Electric. There are actually quite a few cars that run on Diesel now that looks just like the gasoline versions (VW Bug, Merc, etc). Anyways... :)

    Yeah but those are GlowPlugs :) We're talking about SparkPlugs. Anyways I was just pointing out that not everyone knows everything about cars and dissing on them to make yourself feel like your smart makes you look more like an idiot :)

    holy fucking shit. flameflameflame. it was a ridiculous question, and internal combustion engines all have sparkplugs or something analagous to them.

    toyota uses direct ignition, so the spark plugs are underneath the engine cover, underneath those four black plastic things (coil packs, for toyota direct ignition).

    Considering Toyota's intricate Independent Direct Ignition System hid away under flat plastic cover, one could have some compassion for KhmerProduction... He was in fact thinking about changing them, but when hood was popped, no sparkplugs were seen...? "if they do have plugs where would they b located?"
    As kindly stated, they are in fact under plastic engine cover, under 4 coil packs which are part of the sparkplug boots... just twist and pull after removing hold-down bolts.
    While you're at it, why not upgrade to NGK's Iridium IX with 6mm centre electrode, and taper cut ground electrode?

    i use the NGK platnum plugs. their iridium IX is equally effective and cheaper. :)

    PS: you might want to let your engine cool down before attempting to change your plugs. also, you might want to go buy some tools before attempting it too. When you remove the ignition coils...the plugs will be lodge deep within your engine. The socket size that fits the plugs ...i think is a 14mm.

    you should put your stock plugs back in.

    you should use only iridiums in the 00+ 1zz-fes
