Spark of Controversy: Skyline vs. Mustang

Which is considered more modifiable, the Nissan Skyline (any version) or the Ford Mustang (also any version) and why?

what's got a better aftermarket between the two? in the US, the Mustang does...in Japan, the Skyline. the Skyline handles FAR better(assuming it's an R32 GTR, especially...) though a V8 mustang has the capability to drag like no other.

in the US, all your money would be spent on legalizing the Skyline, while the Mustang requires a ton of money to make it go fast enough to be in the 11s.

overall...the two cars are meant for different things. one is meant for cornering, the other for dragging. i personally prefer the skyline out of the two, though it's hard to truly compare them...

well then we'd have to get into specifics about the skyline trim. when people think skyline, they think GT-R...so find me an AWD coupe with that much power potential, and then we'd be talkin.

well...not really. the mustang's got more dragability, while the GT-R is weighed down by the AWD system.

    seriously, they're two different animals.

I was curious mainly to see who liked what, and why? And with mustangs, I also included all mustangs from the original Shelby, and the Boss to the new Shelby looking to be released late this year.

I'm not really all that familiar with the Skyline, only what I've seen and played in various games. And that only includes the r32 and the r34.

But here's another question.... While the Mustang has 40 years of history, and thousands of avaliable aftermarket parts.... What kind of history does the Skyline have?

the skylines have been around for quite some time...i want to say from at least the 60's.

here's another tidbit...did you know that there have been skyline sedans? that was back when they were still Datsun.

mustang is not a real sports car, period..
cobra, maybe but that's still cutting it close.

the corvette or viper would be a closier match.

well if that's the case, it's like i said before. both cars have a large enough aftermarket - it depends on the country you're in. since the Skyline is a vehicle only released across the pond, the aftermarket THERE is rather large. the mustang is primarily sold here, and the aftermarket here's pretty big. they're pretty much on equal footing there.

are there Mustangs in the drift scene? not that i know of...i believe they're more apt to use GTOs than anything.

the Mustang is part of american automotive heart and soul. just because YOU don't like them, doesn't mean they're not loved by other people. realize that ;)
