some lighting upgrades and part #s

on the 2003 to 2005 you can use:

    Trunk light replaced with 3652

    194, 14V, 2 cp/25 lumens, 2500 hrs 4 watts
    168, 14V, 3 cp/38 lumens, 1500 hrs 5 watts
    3652, 13.5V, 6 cp/75 lumens, 700 hrs 5 watts

HIR 9011 to replace the 9005 Hi beam $30
    http://www.hirheadlights.com/ (best alternative to HID)
you can use also go Phillips euro 9006 HV (clear and 50% better than stock and 20% more than US version the Xtravision) $10
H-3AW Narva (AW is all weather) in the fogs $8

    9006 - 55 watts - 1000 lumens
    9005 - 65 watts - 1700 lumens

    9012 - 55 watts - 1870 lumens
    9011 - 65 watts - 2350 lumens

FYI the HIDs in comparison are

    D2R HID capsule - 35 watts - 2800 lumens

Older Corollas: many have had a different bulb and you could upgrade it:

Many older ones use an 1156 (turn sigs and back up) and 1157 (Brakes)

for 1156 use a direct fit 3497 can even use in the turn sigs.

even better backup light replacement for 1156 is 796. 35W halogen, only 7W more than stock 1156 (27W) but WAY more light, because of the raise and fall, or the quickness of the lights off and on do not use 796 in turn sigs.
    See:
    796: 60 candlepower draw 35 watts
    3497: 45 candlepower draw 27 watts
    1156: 32 candlepower draw 27wattts

If you use an 1157 for Brakes and running use a direct fit 3496

    3496: 43/4 candlepower 27/8 watts
    1157: 32/3 candlepower 27/8 watts
    2057: 32/2 candlepower 27/8 watts

For a 194 commonly used for license plates use a 2825
    Or for amber use 2827*
