    so my transmission is toast

First I thought it was a wheel bearing, then a bad throw-out bearing.. but instead...

Turns out gears 2,3,4,5 are failing. I'll probably loose 2nd gear first then the others. So, there's $1600 + my time to swap a new one.. should be messy

a low milage tranny shouldn't be that much. It costed me $250 for a low milage (<40k) tranny from my local engine warehouse. And putting in the new one should be just as much work/cost as much labor as putting in a clutch.

Junk yard a tranny and put it in yourself. Need a couple people though due to it being a heavy b@stard.

Ouch. Why so low miles when it broke? Too much F&F driving? I wonder how good mine are...

I wish I had that experience.

I drive it like a granny. 90% highway w/ cruise control on. no excuse for it to be failing.
