WORLD EXCLUSIVE! FIRST LOOK AT iTUNES PHONE
MobileMusicBlog has exclusive pictures of Motorola's iTunes phone, and it's a stunner with clear design references from both the iPod and Motorola handsets. MMB can also exclusively reveal that Moto is coming through on its promise to deliver a line of "iPod phones" -- the first batch comes with a hard drive-based version as well as a smaller-capacity flash-based Shuffle model.

"The delays of our iTunes mobile phones have been well documented, but we can today reveal two products that fulfill the high expectations of both the Apple and Motorola brands," a Motorola spokesperson said. "Both models are ready to ship in volume immediately, and our carrier partners are excited to begin selling the handsets and confident of the role in the iTunes ecosystem the devices will give them."

"Both devices combine the high level of functionality found in Motorola handsets and the legendary features and interface of the Apple iPod. They sync easily with both PC and Mac, while the hard-disk model features the same user interface and familiar scroll wheel found on the iPod, iPod Photo and iPod mini, while the flash model has the exact same controls as the iPod Shuffle."

Motorola and Apple expect to issue a formal announcement including full specs and pricing shortly. Steve Jobs didn't return repeated calls for comment.

When asked about the seemingly random appearance of the handsets given Motorola's recent scrubs of announcements at a few major events, Motorola spokeswoman April Furst commented, "it's a little hard to believe, isn't it?"
