Smelly car or better gas milage??

I tried a different Amoco station in a different town and noticed that I don't get the sulfur smell, so far (89 oct). However my gas milage seems to be down more than normal. I'll have to try a few tanks to see. So here's the question: Would you rather get less gas milage and no sulfur smell, or better milage with the occasional smell? The optimum answer would be good gas milage with no smell, but so far I haven't found it.

low sulfur fuel is the key! Then you get good mileage with almost SULEV emissions and no smell. Otherwise, I would fill up with the good smelling stuff around town and the good mileage stuff on trips.

Isn't there a TSB about the sulfer smell anyway? I know my Trix is in the VIN range for the problem, but I almost always use Shell and have never had the problem.

I only got the smell when the car was new, then i never noticed it again after a few months. I thought it just need to break in the cat and stuff but lots of ppl are still getting the smell i gues.
