Since i got my new wheels...

    17" motegi MR7 wrapped w/ 225/45/17 falken azenis tires
will it eventually damage or cause any problems w/ the engine?
because i can feel my engine working harder than before...
and they kinda slow down da car...

what are the negative effects of big tires heavy wheels on our engine??

    thanks.

no real problems with the engine.

It'll lug a bit more since you'll be spending more time in the low rev range, but I don't think you should have any probs.

The suspension may be taking some extra stresses since it wasn't designed to take a whole lot of weight...but hey, that's why engineers use safety factors.

the 225/45/17 is the same height as the factory tire and the wheels weigh less than the factory wheels... so they make no differance in driveline wear. If anything it will help because its less rotating weight.

On the other hand, while the overall height is close to stock, they are also 3 cm wider than stock. There are two types of Falken Azenis tires, but regardless of which type you got, they are considerably heavier than the stock tires due to the materials used to stiffen up the sidewalls (contributing to your rougher ride). I think if you were to put the stock wheels/tires and compare them on a scale with the new wheels/tires, you'll find that the new set is very close if not more than the stock.
