    Silencers: Stealth mode

I've been looking into silencers for the exhaust. I've always wanted something to quiet it down to almost nothing so that I can go placed unnoticed. I know people these days want it faster and louder, but I'm exactly opposite. LOL :D I've heard the Prius is so quiet when it's running off the electric motor, that it can literally sneak up on pedestrians and scare the crap out of them. LOL
Well anyways, the only automotive silencers available are these:

However, these don't reduce sound levels by enough decibels and restrict the flow and rob power. I have stumbled across this:
Insert Silencers designed to achieve 8-12 dBA reduction on relatively stock engines up to about 500ci. These slide into a 4" exhaust tip or header collector and attach with one bolt.

A almost silent stealth car would be interesting, even if it were a removable modification.

The top silencer is made by Tanabe and can be purchased from a website called more japan. They kinda sucks though. I used to work with them and they would lag a lot. If you end up talking to a sales guy named Reggie, then try to low ball the price. he might give it to you if you are persistent. hehe.

The bottom one looks like some ebay silencer. never seen it before.

mk, the top ones suck...badly and they dont work well in reducing noise. the bottom ones seems as if they would work better, i have to agree. the air hits that wall and goes up the vents, travels across the outside, and then down those vents. that would increase a little backpressure but would def do a better job of reducing the noise. nice find imo

My friend has a 93 jaguar xj6. He has silencers (factory installed) similar to the first ones. They work, but i mean u still hear the engine if u gun it, but it is very very quiet for an inline 6.

I like just a Tad of grunt, when u floor it. None of that gay, hole in muffler shit that ricers do.

Then those aren't silencers. Those would be resonators and they don't like anything like those on top. It looks more like a tube muffler.

My exhaust isn't that loud. It's pretty moderate. I wanted to silence it completely.
