Does anyone on here have factory optional side airbags installed on their 98-02 Corolla?

I have them on my LE. The only way you can tell is the "SRS Airbag" sticker on each seat.

    btw, why you asking?

It's not worth it. The only time you would use them is if you're in an accident. An accident means the car will be worthless anyways. LOL :D I love to take a picture, but... the only difference is an SRS Airbag sticker. You wouldn't even notice if it you didn't pay close attention.

yeah that's the thing, side airbags are getting to be standard equipment on cars these days kind of like how passenger air bags were a decade ago. I want it as a safety feature in case I wreck. Do you think the swap would involve swapping the seats or just buying the air bag and mounting it on the seats or what?

The airbags are inside the seats and I have no idea how it's rigged to the electrical system. Since the airbag lights come on at startup, it could be that you would need to replace the ECU in order for those bags to even work. It won't be cheap considering airbags are never cheap, you would have to buy them with the seats, and you would need the hardware, wiring, sensors, and know how. Bottom line: It's not worth it. You can just save up and buy a newer car with side airbags standard for less hassle and cost. Or I can sell you my car. LOL :D
