Should TN honor this request from a "Dead Man Walking"?

He's dead now, but let's just assume either posthumously or before he died, it doesn't matter.

I think they should have. It's $20, probably less...and the fact that a last meal cannot exceed $20 is bullshit. Regardless of what someone did, and regardless of your stance on the death penalty, I think it's a matter of common decency. It's $20...give me a break. If that's going to bankrupt the taxpayers of TN (which actually has some of the highest taxes in the US) then I would seriously question the state's fiscal responsibility. He looked beyond his own selfish needs and wanted to make a homeless person's day. What's so wrong with that? The only thing I can find wrong with it is that perhaps more than one homeless person could enjoy the pie.

    Poll on the way.

They Did. Well the state didn't, but others did.

There's a lot more to this case than what has come out in the media in the last few months. I think the courts refused final conclusive ballistics testing on the round that killed Ronald Oliver a couple years ago. If it came from an officer's gun and not Workman's, there'd have been a mess. It definitely caused a decent bit of doubt in town, and to this day there's a lot of people who still believe the officer was actually killed by friendly fire.

I think they way they're seeing it is that he's entitled to his last meal..not last wish. I agree that 20.00 is too little. They should at least give him what he really wants. regardless of what they've done in their past, they should at least get a one good last meal.

thats dumb. getting a splendid last meal is as pointless and unnecessary as serilizing the needle used to kill the bastard.

hehe that's an interesting way to put it. I'm kind of neutral on this subject. I go both ways depending on my mood I guess.
